wcsm gun show rules as adopted july 16, 1995
1) There will be no loaded firearms in the show area, except for the duty weapons of law enforcement personnel authorized to carry them.
2) Dealers shall have no loaded firearms at their tables at any time, this includes "personal" weapons under the table, etc.
3) Firearms shall be tied to render them inoperable, this includes dealer guns and those brought in by the public. In almost every case, ties will suffice for safety; in special cases guns may be made inoperable in some other manner if ties cannot be used.
4) Anyone not having guns tied shall be warned; if ties are not then attached, the person(s) shall be expelled from the show.
5) If a firearm is to be examined by a prospective buyer (dealer or visitor), the tie may be removed but a new tie is to be placed on the gun upon completion of the examination. Removal is easy and replacement is just as easy.
6) "Walk-in" firearms shall be tied at the entrance for safety reasons and will be tagged with a colored tag to show ownership for the benefit of the dealers. A dealer who buys or otherwise accepts a gun shall remove the ownership tie so that it cannot be used again.
7) Firearms sold or traded for at the show, must have a receipt showing make, model, caliber and serial number (when present) so that exit personnel know that the gun is being taken out legitimately.
8) If a firearm is discharged at a show, the table renter is deemed responsible and will be expelled from the show and from all other WCSM shows for one year. After one year, the dealer may apply to the Board of Directors for reinstatement.
Board of Directors action at a meeting of December 10, 2006 changed the wording of the regulation to read, "If the person responsible for the discharge of a firearm at a sponsored gun show is a dealer he or she will be barred for life as a dealer at a WCSM sponsored gun show". Changed in August 2008 (1 year) can be reinstated by action of the board.
9) Remember: The guns are tied for safety reasons and tagged for ownership identification.
10) Show chairmen will continue to have guns checked at the entrance and will make sure that they are tied and tagged at that time.
11) Show chairmen may have armed guards at shows as necessary for nighttime security, etc.
